Taylor Swift tops Billboard Hot 100 with ‘Midnights’ Breaks another Record

Taylor Swift had one of the most historic weeks in the 64-year history of the Billboard Hot 100 singles list, becoming the first artist to capture the top 10 in a single week.

Swift surpasses Drake, who had nine of the top ten songs on the Hot 100 for a week in September 2021.

Swift’s “Anti-Hero” debuts at No. 1 on the Hot 100, earning her ninth career top spot.

All ten songs in the Hot 100’s top tier are from Swift’s new album Midnights, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart on Oct. 21 on Republic Records and had the largest week for any release in seven years.

Swift also surpasses Drake and The Beatles in terms of the most titles removed off the top of the Hot 100 in a single week, since her monopoly on the top ten outperforms both bands, who each infused the top five for a week in 2021 and 1964, respectively.

Meanwhile, with 10 new Hot 100 top 10s, Swift now has the most top 10s among women in chart history (40, surpassing Madonna’s 38). She is just second to Drake among all artists (59 top 10s).

Midnights also becomes the first album in history to have as many as ten Hot 100 top tens, surpassing Drake’s Certified Lover Boy’s nine in 2021.

The Hot 100 combines all-genre streaming (official audio and video), radio airplay, and sales statistics in the United States. All charts (until November 5, 2022) will be updated on Toloud.com tomorrow (Nov. 2).
